About the play

Breathe Me In is a play about resilience, friendship, and the power of music. Written by Rachel Lynett, winner of the 2021 Yale Drama Prize for their play, Apologies to Lorraine Hansberry (You Too August Wilson).

Synopsis

Erin, a composer and elite classical musician, lost everything when an accident took most of her hearing and a trusted friend stole her life's work. When she meets Adam, an autistic musician yearning for a friend, they find a common language in music but are soon forced to face the pasts they've been running from. Erin doesn't believe she can ever again be the musician she once was and Adam doesn't believe he can carry his race on his back along with a condition that holds him back from connecting. Can they achieve the dreams they once had in spite of a world that doesn't believe in them?
